Home remedies fro phlegm?

Ok, so I have a cough for quite a while now, and phlegm too, I can cough my phlegm and even thought I always cough it, it still won't go away, It always disturbs me especially when im in school, it is really very annoying, I can't even understand what the teacher is teaching because of this cough, oh and I first started witha cold, and then a cough, I believe its been more than a week, what should i do?????, pls help, can u pls give me some advices and home remedies that actually works for this problem, oh and by the way, it is ok for me to have the phlegm, just not the cough bcause it is really very distracting, tnx very much for all the help =)
