Indefinite Leave to Remain?
It doesn't matter how long you've been married - it matters how long you lived in he UK. To be eligible for ILR as a spouse, you have to live in the UK continuously for at least 2 years, with a maximum of 180 days per year spent outside the country. If you have been out of the UK for more than 180 days, then you need to start your 2 years residency requirement again as it only applies to continuous residency. So if you lived in the UK for 18 months, then went to Canada for 1 year, you cannot count any time previously spent in the UK towards your ILR. Your 2 year period will start again once you reenter the UK
